Made in … Pakistan?

Pakistan is a country of immense natural beauty as well as amazing crafts and artisanry like hand-painted tiles, pottery, jewelry, fabrics – it’s colorful, diverse, and rich in history, art, and culture.

And it stands out in many ways. If you always dreamed of impressing someone with the craziest facts about Pakistan, I’m about to make your dreams come true:

  • Loud and proud: It’s officially the 5th most populous country in the world, trailing only India, China, the US, and Indonesia.

  • Peak Nature: It’s home to K2, the second-highest mountain on Earth.

  • Languages galore: While there are 8 major regional languages, up to 70 languages are spoken across the country!

  • Climate Goals: It spans four distinct climate zones, meaning you get everything from alpine glaciers to tropical coastal vibes.

Challenges to opportunities

Pakistan is young, for a country: It’s only turning 80 next year, and it has seen a lot. After 200 years of British colonialism,  Pakistanis had to witness a painful partition from India in 1947, 32 years of military dictatorship, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes. Today, Pakistan is struggling with poverty, illiteracy, corruption, and terrorism.

But Pakistanis have achieved significant milestones globally in science, sports, philanthropy, and technology, including Nobel Prizes, developing the first PC virus, operating the world's largest ambulance network, and holding numerous Guinness World Records in sports and academics. They are recognized for contributions to AI, aerospace, and environmental preservation. Most of all, it’s a country of 250 million people who are creative, funny, resourceful, hospitable, and immensely talented.

Their basket-waving traditions, jewellery and pottery-making culture, and many more beautiful things created in Pakistan are timeless, long-lasting, high-quality, stay away from short-lived trends, and most of all, don’t get the attention and recognition they deserve.

Why trade and collaboration benefit everyone

International trade is an engine of growth that helps nations prosper by creating jobs, reducing poverty, and increasing economic opportunities. According to the World Bank, Since 1990, open trade has supported the movement of over one billion people out of extreme poverty.

Unfortunately, lots of production power is spread over a small number of counties. China alone is responsible for around 30% of the world’s manufacturing output – but there are 195 countries in the world. We believe more countries deserve a seat at the table. By introducing you to the special creations from Pakistani artisans, we don’t just want to bring you beauty and aesthetic; we want to contribute to a fairer world.

Who made this?

Making purchasing decisions that feel right and are ethically, economically, and ecologically sound has become challenging. Things are mass-produced just to be mass-thrown-away after a few years because they chase the latest trends that everyone is sick of after a few months, and are such low quality that they become unusable just as fast.

That’s why we want to offer an alternative, something more meaningful. Our collection focuses on ancient techniques that haven't just survived—they've thrived and have been loved, appreciated and honed for centuries.

The baskets are made out of date leaves, they are hand-dyed and woven using local palm fibers. This makes them organic, earthy and 100% unique. The pottery, which is, because of its origin of being mostly blue, usually called “blue pottery” is hand molded, hand-painted and glazed by master artisans, making it bold, timeless, and full of history. The mirrors are hand-painted by a young artist who's just starting out, with a mission to combine the beauty of traditional shapes and techniques with the colours and vibrancy of the current century. All of them work tirelessly to create long-lasting products with a story and a purpose.

Why This Matters

When you choose a hand-painted vase or a hand-woven basket from Pakistan, you’re choosing an alternative to the "trend-chasing" cycle. You’re supporting a real person, a real family, and a real community. Thank you!
