Checkered Lemon Bowl

Pakistani pottery traditionally features intricate patterns, often flowers, sometimes more geometrical shapes and patterns. Now and then, a checkered item comes up, mostly in brown and black tones. But what if it were a bright yellow? The question was answered in the form of this bowl. Usually called a "karahi" bowl, after the dish that is served in a bowl with round handles. Usually used as a big serving plate, we created a smaller and dare we say, cuter version of it, that goes well with any fruit, not just lemons! Whatever floats your bowl can go inside.

A note on handmade pottery
Handmade is not machine-made. While the colours and shapes are similar, the painting and final look of each piece are truly unique.
No two pieces will ever look the same, just like no two things in nature ever do. Don't be mad if the artisan left a little "personal touch" (literally!) for you, a tiny smudge here or part of a fingerprint there. Embrace the individuality that comes with this kind of pottery.
